The Works & Efforts of William Engdahl

For anyone interested in trying to understand modern geo-politics, and the often complicated details of today's global headlines, I would strongly recommend that you look into the works & efforts of William Engdahl.
Author & GeoPolitical-Analyst F.William Engdahl offers an intriguing view into the financial & military-industrial activities of the world's controlling powers; exploring the powerful partnerships among the oil & banking industries and the government.
Many articles and excerpts are viewable online, as well as many informative video clips and interviews of Mr.Engdahl. ( links & videos listed below )

At the very least, I suggest you visit his website : http://www.williamengdahl.com/

Greatly inspired by his book, "A Century of War", I wrote a song with that same name. A compelling history lesson of extreme importance, the reader discovers "the murky world of the Anglo-American Oil Industry and it's hidden role in World Politics." The song / music-video, which was produced as a piece for my Lunartrax recording projects, presents impressions from this and other Engdahl books, such as "Gods of Money" and "Full Spectrum Dominance."
I am completely thrilled and quite honored that Mr. E. not only tolerated my tune, but actually enjoyed it well enough to feature it as an embedded video on his website !! His kind & encouraging words express his gratitude - but I insist that the honor is mine !   WATCH "CENTURY OF WAR" VIDEO

His recent book, "Myths, Lies, and Oil Wars" is also well worth your investigation. Presenting thoroughly-referenced and concisely-stated tales of real modern-day power struggles, it brings the reader to the present era, and the increasingly obvious global agendas that surely affect us all.

AND there is a lengthy discussion of one of the strangest of our modern myths, the notion of oil as a "fossil fuel." In 1994, at an international conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, geological scientist Professor V.A. Krayushkin of the Ukrainian Institute of Sciences in Kiev presented conclusive evidence that oil is, in fact, not from decayed biological remains, but is 'abiotic' in origin, and continues to be produced deep in the earth's mantle.
This is intriguing information to be sure. OIL IS NOT A FOSSIL FUEL !! Please research this and share the info with others.
and Engdahl article:   Confessions of an "ex" Peak Oil Believer )

In his preface to "A Century of War", Wiliiam Engdahl states that his book "seeks to shed light on some less known aspects of our history, in an effort to provoke thinking beyond the moment, beyond journalist embedded impressions of reality, or major media sound-byte versions of reality, to encourage ordinary citizens to reflect on longer-term consequences of what our governments do with our mandate. If it leads to some critical questions being asked, its aim will have been met."

Thank you, Mr. Engdahl, for your on-going efforts and informative works. May honesty, global co-operation, and peace somehow prevail !

Welcome to the Moon

With many favorite subjects of continued fascination, I have always been thrilled by the Apollo lunar missions. This is, of course, due partly to my interest in space & astronomy, yet also an extension of my love of nature, "... with the hiking and the biking and the whoa ! .. thank you, mister science-explorer-type-person ... ! "
Just imagine waking up and looking out at your camping spot, only to suddenly recall that you've just risen after a good night's sleep on the Moon ! For this and many other reasons, the "J-missions" of Apollo 15, 16, & 17 are to me the most fantastic. During each of those visits, 2 astronauts camped on the Moon for three days, and drove their lunar rover around to many amazing locations, studying the geology and taking thousands of photos, witnessing some of the most incredible vistas yet seen by human eyes, while going about their day's work, in a vacuum.
The picture that I've been using as the cover photo for my Apollo tribute project, "Welcome to the Moon", features Apollo 17's Jack Schmitt at geology Station 1 during their first EVA.
( photo : AS17-134-20425 )  ... see Apollo Lunar Surface Journal for more info !
I have always hoped that he'd excuse my replacing his lunar rake with my Vantage electric guitar ! Many of his humourous and personable quotes have found their way into my tribute video series.
And it really should be known to all humans that Dr. Harrison "Jack" Schmitt is also the man who snapped the most beautiful and widely viewed photo of the Earth to date, during his voyage out to the Moon, as the blue home planet dwindled to the size of a golf ball held at arm's length. One Apollo astronaut described the Earth as a beautiful and fragile little Christmas ornament, hanging up there in the blackness of space. Keith Emerson Band

With a good assortment of talented progressive-rock heroes that inspire me, it seems only natural that I should go on a bit about composer & keyboardist extraordinaire, Keith Emerson. And in other blog posts, I'll surely mention ELP - Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, but here I'd like to feature an amazing recent album by the Keith Emerson Band, with guitarist / vocalist Marc Bonilla.
Among other reasons, this project is near & dear to my heart, since the cover art proudly displays my friend Roger Rossen's Hammond organ, sort of smoking and half-buried in a desolate, post-apocalyptic looking field... never looked better  :-)
After years of continued growth and evolution, Emerson has been able to put out a prog album of impeccable musical richness - full of melodic, chordal, and rhythmic diversity. The songs are accessably catchy AND deliciously complex !
The collaboration with Marc Bonilla has turned out to be an inspired match. And so many of the quintessential Keith Emerson flavours are there throughout the project... almost as if Bonilla said, "now do all that Emerson stuff that you do ..."
Great playing by all the musicians there ... and I have to say that my hands-down favourite piece is the undeniable f@#%ing tiger of a song, "The Art of Falling Down" !!! Dangerously cool rhythmic changes and a gritty bluesy feel to make even rockin' Led Zepplin fans yell, ohhh yeahhh !!
Look for the CD and the concert DVD "Live in Moscow" online .... at Amazon, etc.
Enjoy Keith Emerson music ! .. .  .   .    .     .      .        .         Pass It On  !!

Apollo tribute

This is a favorite lunar photo by Apollo 16's John Young, of Charlie Duke and the rover at Plum Crater, which drastically slopes away, down into its depths. The names listed are those of every person who traveled to our nearby moon, with 12 of them who walked on the lunar suface. The rover's TV camera also captured this photographic moment, with Duke's back to the TV viewers as Young took his 'pan series' of shots at this geology stop, Station 1. ( photo: AS16-114-18423 )
The powerfully attractive "fake-lunar-landings" myth has become increasingly popular, especially among people who will probably never bother to read the fabulous & definitive Andrew Chaikin book, "A Man on the Moon", or spend time investigating the extensive website "Apollo Lunar Surface Journal", or view hundreds of hours of mission footage DVD's from "Spacecraft Films" ... getting to know a little better some of the people who made Project Apollo a reality.
Some folks remain skeptical about the successful manned space missions of the 1960's and '70's, given that most modern-day government agencies now exhibit such extreme inefficiency, corruption, and wastefulness. The ColdWar and SpaceRace did provide a unique set of circumstances for the pursuits of space exploration, and the obvious target of the only close destination in the neighborhood, the Moon. And while I probably need not concern myself with what various skeptics choose to believe, it does seem a shame that they would deny themselves the enjoyment of some of the most awesome and amazing journeys ever taken by human beings.
For an entertaining glimpse into the lunar adventure, I have assembled the tribute project, "Welcome to the Moon", a collection of audio-visual clips from the Apollo missions, with original progressive-rock music soundtracks.
Here is another very favorite shot - a view out the window during Apollo 15's pass over the Sea of Serenity. The original picture ( photo: AS15-87-11709 ) can be viewed at the "Apollo Lunar Surface Journal" site. I have turned and cropped the image, to highlight the incredible landscape which the astronauts saw below them.

lunartrax - poem posted to FreethoughtNation.com

http://www.freethoughtnation.com/468x60FTNbannerani.gif
( "Delusions and Grandeur" ) I've recently had a poem posted onto FreethoughtNation.com, one of the blog / websites of brilliant author / scholar D M Murdock / Acharya S.  I find that I regularly check this site ( and a few others ) to see some interesting 'off the beaten path' stories & reports that rarely surface in the mainstream media.  Many people have discovered that much of the day's real, honest & unbiased news can be found just about anywhere but the mainstream media sources !
This poem is from the appendix section of my 'sc-songbook'- a project featuring the lyrics of 75 of my original songs, along with assorted personal illustrations and footnotes.
It's funny to me that this rather deep and heavy bit of writing should be my first main post in cyberland - but a wide variety of other pieces are sure to follow !
